Sono nato a Firenze nel Marzo del 1954 ho frequentato i miei studi presso l'Istituto Tecnico Industriale "Leonardo Da Vinci" di Firenze specializzazione meccanica, ma già in quel periodo ero affascinato dal mondo dell'elettronica. Era il periodo dei primi transistor F.E.T. e già si vedevano i primi circuiti integrati. Così la mia prima passione è stata l'elettronica che apprendevo tramite le riviste specializzate dell'epoca e nella lettura di libri che consultavo presso la biblioteca della scuola. Al mondo della radio mi sono avvicinato molto tempo più tardi, prima con un ricetrasmettitore C.B. , poi in seguito, visto che l'interesse accresceva con l'arrivo dei computer e dell'elettronica applicata a essi, i nuovi sistemi digitali di comunicazione e una insaziabile voglia di entrare a far parte del mondo degli "OM" a fatto sì di prepararmi per conseguire gli esami e ottenere Patente e Licenza, questo è avvenuto nel 1997. Devo ringraziare principalmente IK5GQK Fabrizio, che conoscevo proprio per dividere queste esperienze digitali applicate alla radio, il quale mi ha invitato più volte a diventare un "OM". Oggi questa è la principale passione e tramite queste pagine voglio elencare il tipo di attività svolta ed esperienze fatte nei miei ritagli di tempo.

I was born in March 1954, in the historical town of Florence in the heart of Tuscany. I studied at the Istituto Tecnico Industriale (Technical and Industrial Institute) “Leonardo Da Vinci”. Although I was attending a course in Mechanics, I was fascinated by Electronic Technology. At that time, you could meet on the market, the former F.E.T transistors and, already, the first integrated circuits were emerging. Thus, I developed my passion for electronics through specialised magazines and I learnt more and more by consulting references and books that were available in the library of my College. It is much later that Radio would draw my attention. To start with, I simply used to practise with a CB receptor-transmitter. My interest for  radio communication would increase with the arrival of its computing applications and with the emergence of new digital systems. That was it! I was grabbed!

Therefore, I decided to undertake the exams that would allow me to enter the “O.M” world. I obtained successfully my licence in 1997. Since, I must give credit to IK5GQK Fabrizio, who shared his experiences in radio digital application and I shall be grateful to him for encouraging me, more than once, to become an O.M.

Nowadays, Radio Communication is my main hobby and I intend to transmit and share my passion for it. On this website, the reader can find a list of activities and experiences I have carried out during my spare time. (Trans. Christine Giovannetti)
